Is a short swing better?

If you watched the PGA tournament on CBS Sunday you would have heard about Kevin Chappel short back swing.  His short swing was discussed between the commentators.   They mentioned his teacher knew his backswing was too short but what a great ball striker he is?  So is a shorter back swing a fault or for some players is it the proper length?Image result for kevin chappell golf swing
