Ben Hongo has been recognized as teacher of the year in the Hawaii section several time along with top rankings from Golf 
Digest. He has won many other awards from merchandiser of the year and multiple awards for Junior golf leadership. Ben over the years has been recognized as one of the best of not the best player in Hawaii. He is great with beginners to tour players and is the director of instruction at the Kapalua Golf Academy.
